Mental health first aid is the help provided to a person who is developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. The first aid is given until the appropriate professional help is received or the crisis resolves. This 12-hour Standard Mental Health First Aid (SMHFA) Course teaches adults (18 years and over) how to provide Mental Health First Aid to friends, family and co-workers.

Cost
- Early Bird Special $225.00 per person (booked and paid for at least three weeks prior to the course date)
- Group discount 10% with Early Bird Special $202.50 per person (groups of 4-10 people, booked and paid for as a group booking, at least three weeks prior to the course date)
- Standard price $275.00 per person
- Group discount 10%, price is therefore $247.50 per person (groups of 4-10 people, booked and paid for as a group booking)
- Note: In the event of a cancellation less than 10 business days prior to the course commencement date, a cancellation fee of $150.00 will apply, with any balance refunded to you. Re-enrollment into another course will only be possible if a minimum of 10 working days notice is given. If you are unable to attend and cancel on the first or second day of the course, without prior notice, re-enrollment or cancellation fees will be negotiated at the discretion of Endeavour Coaching and a refund may be forfeited. (Courses are not guaranteed to proceed and may be postponed if minimum numbers required are not reached. If this occurs, you will automatically be registered for a subsequent course and notified accordingly.)
Course Content
The SMHFA course teaches adults how to provide initial support to adults who are developing any of the following mental health problems, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or mental health crises:
Developing mental health problems
- Depression

- Anxiety problems
- Psychosis
- Substance use problems.
Mental health crises
Suicidal thoughts and behaviours- Non-suicidal self-injury
- Panic attacks
- Traumatic events
- Severe psychotic states
- Severe effects from alcohol or other drug use
- Aggressive behaviours.
This 12 hour (2 day) course is available to members of the public or it can be delivered to organisations on-site as an in-house training program.
